In April, we were wowed by this vibrant Copper Crush. Not only does it showcase Laura’s mastery of the art of colouring, it’s also the perfect example of the versatility of the OCS colour range. Not to mention that gorgeous cut!
What a stunning reminder that using a low-tox, ammonia-free colour with natural and organic ingredients really doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice results. We just had to make it our Look of the Month, and we were lucky enough that Laura gave us some of her valuable time to talk us through her process.

Copper Crush by Laura @ PEG Hair, Brighton
Laura says: I mixed Naturlite Powder with 20 Volume Cream Activator and weaved through in diagonal scattered sections with more focus around the front hairline to create some lighter blended pieces. Then, I used this recipe on the roots: Base 6 (10g), 6CR (5g), 6BC (10g), 6RC (20g).
Next, I blended into the mid-lengths and ends (picking up lighter on the pre-lightened sections) with the following recipe: 6RC (25g), 6BC (10g), 6CR (5g). Afterwards, I toned/glossed over all of it with 6BC (20g), XBO (5g), XBR (2g).
I love doing coppers in general and I especially like the way OCS toners gloss over permanent colours and enhance pigment.
