Our Look of the Month for May is a transformation that needs to be seen to be believed.
We were blown away by Terri from The Zen Den and her talent for using OCS products to breathe new life into the hair. Terri was kind enough to share all the details with us, so scroll on to read all about it!
Terri says: I started with a Wet Stretch Test. The result showed that this client’s hair was covered in silicone – it had no stretch. So, I washed twice with Charcoal shampoo and tested again.
There was no stretch at the roots, stretch and no return in the mids and stretching with breakage at the end. These results told me I needed to pre-treat the hair using Aqua Boost Treatment at the root and Power Build Treatment on the mids and ends.
I formulated a demi-permanent colour using 25g 7NN, 10g 7DAH, 10g 7CR, 10g Grey & 55g 3%. After applying to the root area and melting into existing blonde with my fingers as opposed to using a comb (with a wet towel beside me to keep my hands clean) I then went back though and proceeded with foils using the same colour I used for root area. I kept them fine to keep it blended and processed for 40 minutes under the Thermal Booster Hat.
After washing with Power Build Shampoo and treating using Revamp with Power Build Treatment over the top, I toned using a formula of 19g 11HN and 5g Silver with 24g 1.5%.
Finally, I washed using Power Build Shampoo and Conditioner before applying Aqua Boost Leave-In – I just love this as my cutting aid!

Honestly, my advice to anyone going to a salon for a consultation is to take three inspiration photos with them. We all interpret colour very differently. It’s all in the consultation!
